Team Prepping for First Aconcagua Normal Route
We have received an update from our first Aconcagua team of the season! Joshua and his team, Dawn, Luciano and Alex, will be attempting the summit from the Normal Route approach.

The team met in Mendoza on November 29th and drove out to Los Penitentes to finish all of the logistical details before they started their hike in. Their approach pased by Confluencia Camp, the incredible south face and the long traverse of Playa Ancha before they arrived at the Plaza de Mulas Base Camp. There, they have been resting and recovering some energy for the climb ahead.

They are expecting the weather to improve a bit over the next couple days. Right now the mountain is on alert for strong winds, but the forecast for Monday and Tuesday is much better so Joshua is working to position the team on time for that good weather window. Yesterday they hiked up to Canada Camp, or Camp 1, and will be ready to make the move up tomorrow. Wish them good luck!
