The team met in MenÂdoza on NovemÂber 29th and drove out to Los PenÂiÂtentes to finÂish all of the logisÂtiÂcal details before they startÂed their hike in. Their approach pased by ConÂfluÂenÂcia Camp, the incredÂiÂble south face and the long traÂverse of Playa Ancha before they arrived at the Plaza de Mulas Base Camp. There, they have been restÂing and recovÂerÂing some enerÂgy for the climb ahead.

They are expectÂing the weathÂer to improve a bit over the next couÂple days. Right now the mounÂtain is on alert for strong winds, but the foreÂcast for MonÂday and TuesÂday is much betÂter so Joshua is workÂing to posiÂtion the team on time for that good weathÂer winÂdow. YesÂterÂday they hiked up to CanaÂda Camp, or Camp 1, and will be ready to make the move up tomorÂrow. Wish them good luck!
