Mt. Logan Quick Wrap-Up

MM guide Tino stopped in the office yesterday glowing from the incredible experience he had on Mount Logan. His enthusiasm for this new alpine territory has him geared up for next year, as he reflects on the successful expedition:

We had a really great trip! We were stunned by the vastness of the Wrangell-St. Elias Range. As we flew out, we looked over an array of peaks that had seen very few people, if any. Mountain Madness is really excited to continue to explore the range with future trips, whether it be climbing or skiing. We had an amazing experience on the King Trench this year, and we’re looking forward to targeting the East Ridge of Logan next year. Check back soon for a more detailed write up with photos of both Mount Logan and other potential objectives in the area!”

I want to give my highest recommendations to both Joe and Tino. They prepared for the trip meticulously and led us with a combination of professionalism, highest skill, dead-on decision-making, and humor. It is said that the overall success rate on Logan is actually quite low — with a little help from the weather gods, it is no surprise that we were able to summit with these two fantastic guides.

The trip was awesome! The isolation, the mountain, the scale, everything made it feel like I was in Antarctica.

The Mount Logan climb was fantastic! An experience I won’t forget. Joe and Tino were absolutely great in every way. And a great team, too. What a great trip!
