Lobuche East Summit! Ama Dablam Expedition
Seth called in again today from Lobuche East Base base camp to report that the entire team climbed Lobuche East (6100m) to the summit from high camp in 4 hours!!
Lobuche East is a great acclimatization peak due to its altitude, close proximity to Ama Dablam, and incredible views. Seth sounds very satisfied with how things are going and the fact that “everybody is moving really, really well right now.” They made it back to base camp in a fast two hours.
After an incredible sunrise, a bit of low pressure weather moved in this morning and it was apparently snowing steadily. Today they are going to hunker down a bit, relax, and prepare for the hike back down to Pangboche. There they will reap the benefits of heavier air, hearty fresh food, and do a bit of gear shuffling before relocating to Ama Dablam base camp proper.
Everybody says hi and sends their best to family and friends!
