Camp 3 — Ama Dablam Summit Tomorrow!
Seth called this morning from Ama Dablam High Camp at 6000⁄20,669 ft to report that the team is healthy, strong, and motivated to go for the top tomorrow. Yesterday two Sherpas summitted, which was great news, as Seth will have very current beta on the route conditions.
Camp 3 is in good shape and sheltered from the wind. The move from camp 2 took a quick 5 hours. It was heavy to climb with the packs on at the Grey Tower (150 m) and on the Mushroom Ridge they said.
The Norwegians in the crew are dreaming about skiing back home (not surprising) and say hi to everybody! Mark and Wolf send their best and are psyched to top out, get down, and make it back to see their families.
The weather forecast looks good and they will go for the summit tomorrow! Hopefully we’ll get a call from the summit early morning on Saturday (west coast U.S. time)
Stay tuned and wish them strong lungs, good climbing, and a safe descent! Make it Happen!
