Ama Dablam Expedition Arrives in Pangboche
Hi, this is Seth calling in from Pangboche! We arrived here this evening after a long hike from Namche today. Everyone did really well and all are healthy and happy. We left Namche really early this morning under perfect weather. Under calm blue skies we hiked up and through the village of Tengboche and visited the monastery where we were fortunate to have a full tour by a good friend of mine, Nima Norbu.
After the tour, we dropped back down and hiked another hour to arrive here in Pangboche. Now we are drinking tea and eating shakpa, which is a traditional Sherpa food made of stew, potatoes and dumplings. After dinner it will be time to tuck in and call it a night.
Tomorrow morning we are going to the Phortse Gompa monastery and then meet with the Lama of Phortse Gompa. We have a beautiful day ahead of us tomorrow! We will have a Puja ceremony in the morning, with Lama Gushi in the Phortse Gompa monastery. From there, we will hike up to base camp where the rest of the crew is waiting for us. We are excited to head up to base camp. We are looking at Ama Dablam; it’s a beautiful crystal clear night. We will touch base with you tomorrow. Over and out!
