Ama Dablam Update — Moving up

Tues­day, Novem­ber 17

Hel­lo Moun­tain Mad­ness. This is Seth Hob­by call­ing in from Ama Dablam Base Camp. The last 3 days we have been here relax­ing, rest­ing and enjoy­ing the lux­u­ry of base­camp. We had a low pres­sure sys­tem move through and put some snow on the ground, so we have just been hang­ing tight here. Every­one is hap­py and healthy and doing very well. We are hang­ing tough here through today and then mov­ing up to start our sum­mit bid after tomor­row. Our plan is to get to bed at a decent hour tonight and move up to Camp 1 tomorrow.

On Thurs­day we hope to move on to Camp 2 and right on up to Camp 3 (also known as Mush­room Ridge Camp) on Fri­day. Sat­ur­day will be our first pos­si­ble sum­mit day. The weath­er fore­cast looks good. We have been get­ting heaps of dif­fer­ent fore­casts and every­thing points to an improv­ing trend. The sky is final­ly clear, every­one is healthy and it is din­ner time. We are sign­ing off for now and hope you are all well.
