Mount Buckner North Face

At 9,080 feet / 2768 meters, and locat­ed in the heart of the North Cas­cades Nation­al Park, Mount Buck­n­er is one of the most impor­tant peaks in the state of Wash­ing­ton and offers a fine alpine ice climb. It’s glac­i­ers feed one of the largest bod­ies of ice in the range – the Boston Glac­i­er – and has every­thing great Cas­ca­di­an climbs offer: a stren­u­ous approach, remote­ness, qual­i­ty climb­ing, and incred­i­ble alpine ambiance.

Climbers should be comfortable climbing on exposed ridges, 45 to 60 degree snow/ice slopes and/or 5.6+ rock and have a well-rounded past history of climbing experience. Depending on the objective, climbers may need only snow/ice skills or only rock skills; and vice-versa. Some climbs may require both skill sets.
