Women’s Safe House Project in Nepal blessed and well underway for the next phase
This year marks the 3 year anniversary and completion of operational funds to start the Women’s Safe House. We would like to thank all of our MM donors who helped to make this matching fundraising goal and project a success! On to the next phase!
We’re thrilled to share the incredible progress of the Changing Lives Nepal Women’s Safe House, Samridhi Ghar (House of Prosperity). Nestled in the Himalayan mountains of Nepal’s Sankhuwasbha District, this project has provided women in the region that are victims of domestic abuse, trafficking, rape, and other forms of violence a place to regain their integrity with the assistance from the safe house. This journey, made possible by the generous support of our donors, is transforming vision into reality and providing needed support in the region.
A heartfelt thank you to all our Mountain Madness (MM) donors whose contributions helped achieve our fundraising goal for this project – a collaboration with Changing Lives Nepal (CLN) and All The Sky (ATS) . Special gratitude goes to our Founding Members for their unwavering belief in our mission and for catalyzing the launch of the Safe House. With the initial three year program the viability and value of the the safe house was established. With that, the program has moved ahead with the construction of a permanent facility for the House of Prosperity.
Since breaking ground last October, the site has seen remarkable developments: from land clearance to the installation of earthquake-resistant structures, from plumbing installations to the planting of fruit trees for sustainability. Every step forward is a testament to your kindness and commitment.
The Safe House now, designed to have 12 residential bedrooms and essential facilities, is not just a shelter but a beacon of hope for women in crisis. Thanks to the thorough oversight of our Canadian construction partner, Another Brick in Nepal, the project is progressing smoothly.
Your continued support is not only building a sanctuary for survivors but also fostering a community dedicated to education and advocacy for women’s rights in Nepal. Together, we’re shaping a future with a goal to find a place where every woman feels empowered and protected.
