Winter Wonderland in Ecuador!

The weath­er is turn­ing for cold­er tem­per­a­tures and hol­i­day dec­o­ra­tions are start­ing to appear in depart­ment stores. We know what that means… Ecuador sea­son is back! In fact, Moun­tain Mad­ness climbers are kick­ing off the win­ter Ecuador sea­son with an Anti­sana and Illiniza Sur expe­di­tion, fol­lowed by a Chimb­o­ra­zo sum­mit attempt!

Our team has arrived and already enjoyed the cul­tur­al­ly intrigu­ing tour of Quito and the deli­cious cui­sine of Hacien­da Rumilo­ma while recov­er­ing from their trav­els and prepar­ing for the climbs to come. Today they com­plet­ed their first acclima­ti­za­tion hike on Rucu Pich­in­cha. While they expe­ri­enced some wet weath­er, they still enjoyed their climb and are look­ing for­ward to the more chal­leng­ing objec­tives ahead.
