Up to Ama Dablam Base Camp!

The latest news from our guide Seth Hobby and climbers Mark, Wolf, Hakon, Katrina, Cathrine, and our entire Nepalese staff is that tomorrow is THE day — Ama Dablam Base Camp — onward and upward!

They left Lobuche East Base Camp (after their successful acclimatization climb a few days ago) with a few centimeters of snow on the ground and hit the trail down to Pheriche for lunch. After that they continued down in warm sunshine to Pangboche for dinner and a solid night’s rest. It doesn’t take long to get down to the Dudh Kosi from this small village, and after ceremoniously crossing this river, the trail climbs quickly up to Ama Dablam Base Camp at 15,000 feet. Our Sherpas, porters, and cooks will have already established camp; so they should slide in in great style, well acclimatized, healthy, and ready to go!

Thanks for checkin’ in and stay tuned for more dispatches from what is arguably one of the finest climbs in the Himalaya!
