Cotopaxi success!
Tino reported in with news that 11 out of 12 climbers and five guides reached the summit yesterday.
Tino wrote in to say that, “they summited in really nice weather, a nice contrast from Cayambe. Very cool route right now through some BIG ice. There were steep sections of ice to use the front points and swing the axes, so all the schooling on Cayambe paid off! Along with the interesting ice formations there were also some huge crevasses to make the climb interesting. A great day for all!”
With questionable conditions on Chimborazo right now, the group plans to go to the Illinizas where they have an option to climb either the north or south peak, both enjoyable climbs in a really nice setting.

Cotopaxi.
Some “BIG” ice, as Tino says.
Interesting route finding.
Nearing the summit.
Downward bound.
