Aconcagua Team Ready to Move Up
MM Guide Joshua Jarrin reported in that the Aconcagua Normal Route team is doing just fine, despite some winds and snow. They will be moving up on the mountain after completing some carries.
The team.
Joshua reports Sunday the 19th: “The last two days the weather has been stormy here. We got 3 inches of snow in Base Camp, however yesterday we did our acclimatization hike to Canada camp and are keeping on schedule the best we can.
Canada carry.
“Today, Sunday, the situation hasn’t improved, the teams that tried the summit reported 2 feet of snow on the windy corner and all of them turned around. But, we will wait and conditions should improve as we move up the mountain.
“Our decision is to use our extra day and wait in Base Camp on Sunday. On the 20th we are going to try to move up to Camp 1. Everybody is in a good shape for the move. Despite the bad weather we had a great experience here in Base Camp. Some of the outfitters got together and organized a movie projection, which was perfect for our rest day!
“Below Rory is enjoying the concert that opened the movie.” Stay tuned for more as they make their way up!
