Avalanche Training Program Underway!

Here in the Pacif­ic North­west, we’re pleased to report that our avalanche train­ing cours­es are well under­way. We run Lev­el 1 and Lev­el 2 cours­es cer­ti­fied by the Amer­i­can Insti­tute for Avalanche Research & Edu­ca­tion and back­coun­try ski tour­ing excur­sions in places like Stevens Pass, Mount Rainier, and oth­er great venues.

Char­lotte Austin, the Moun­tain Mad­ness Out­reach Coor­di­na­tor, joined our Avalanche Lev­el 2 course with the Cas­cade Pow­der Cats this week­end. ​“I can’t imag­ine a bet­ter venue for a full-immer­sion course,” she said. ​“Jay and Har­lan were fan­tas­tic course lead­ers, and their com­bined knowl­edge, enthu­si­asm, and expe­ri­ence were huge attributes.”
