Aconcagua Climbers Trying to Take Advantage of Weather Window

Joshua called from camp 3 to say they may make a summit push today or tomorrow.

The team has settled in and is trying to take advantage of a weather window coming their way. Everybody says hi to their families and that they are doing well.

From their high camp the climbers will get an early start in the wee early hours of the morning and move up towards the Gran Acerco, a long, relatively gentle traverse that leads to the infamous canaleta. From there they move straight up on moderately angled slopes to the summit.

It’s a long day for all, but the team has been moving quite well so far and is ready to go!

Here are some photos of the high camp and terrain on the summit climb from a previous expedition.
