7‑Summits reached — MM Clients Living The Dream!
Long-time MM clients Suzanne al-HouÂby, Shawn DawÂson, and Giuseppe RuffiÂno have been livÂing their dreams as they make their way towards the SevÂen SumÂmits goal. All three have recentÂly had sucÂcessÂful sumÂmits all over the world and are already lookÂing ahead to the next chalÂlenge! These climbers are inspirÂing everyÂone who is workÂing towards their own dream, and showÂing that, with hard work and perÂseÂverÂance, they can make it happen!
Some of you may rememÂber MounÂtain MadÂness client Shawn DawÂson who sumÂmitÂed EverÂest last year and recentÂly comÂpletÂed his sevÂenth with a climb of Carstenz PyraÂmid. He began his jourÂney with some trainÂing in Bolivia, where he quickÂly took to livÂing in the rarÂiÂfied air of high mounÂtains. Way to go Shawn!
Suzanne on the sumÂmit of EverÂest with the flags of the Arab countries
Suzanne al-HouÂby, who sumÂmitÂed her first 4 of the SevÂen SumÂmits with MounÂtain MadÂness, became the first Arab woman to sumÂmit Mount EverÂest this year with MounÂtain MadÂness EverÂest guide Willie BeneÂgas and team, who has sumÂmitÂed EverÂest over 10 times himÂself. About her accomÂplishÂment, she says:
“BecomÂing the first Arab woman to reach the top of the world was an enorÂmous thrill and a great privÂiÂlege. I will nevÂer forÂget the moment when my dream became realÂiÂty, makÂing the sumÂmit of the greatÂest mounÂtain on Earth.”
ConÂgratÂuÂlaÂtions to Suzanne! 5 down, 2 to go!
Giuseppe celÂeÂbratÂing on the sumÂmit of Denali
Last, but not least, italÂian climber Giuseppe RuffiÂno sumÂmitÂed Denali this year along with MounÂtain MadÂness guide Eric GulÂlickÂson, after 21 days of gruÂelÂing weathÂer on the mounÂtain. Giuseppe and his team had to sit out three days at high camp in high winds, but finalÂly reached the sumÂmit on May 27. This is also his 5th sumÂmit of the sevÂen, with only CarstenÂsz and EverÂest left to tackÂle. Congratulations!
Stay tuned for info about an upcomÂing trip to Carstensz.
