Baker Beacon Rally!

Moun­tain Mad­ness is excit­ed to be help­ing to run avalanche res­cue clin­ics dur­ing the ​“Bak­er Bea­con Ral­ly” on Mount Bak­er on Jan­u­ary 6. In addi­tion, we will also be donat­ing a free Back­coun­try Ski day for two to the cause. Moun­tain Mad­ness wants to encour­age all win­ter enthu­si­asts to get out and get edu­cat­ed so that we can have a safe 2013 win­ter season.

“Mount Bak­er Edu­ca­tion Cen­ter, REI and a sluff-load of back­coun­try edu­ca­tors invites you to a Back­coun­try Edu­ca­tion Day at Mt Bak­er. Learn about basic search tech­niques includ­ing bea­con, shov­el and probe use. Begin­ners and Sea­soned Vet­er­ans are wel­come. Two lev­els of basic edu­ca­tion and one sta­tion for sea­soned vet­er­ans to race at. Atten­dees should have their own bea­con, probe and shov­el. Free event with over $2500 in back­coun­try gear to be giv­en away!”
