Ama Dablam Expedition 11/12/08 dispatch

Guide Seth Hobby called in with the following update:

Today we took a rest day here at base camp. This morning everyone took advantage of a nice hot shower! Our base camp is extremely plush; it’s by far the nicest camp around.

After everyone showered and had lunch, we went out and worked on our technical systems. The team set up a fixed line on a big boulder here in camp. We practiced jumaring, climbing the rope, passing the knot, and anchor systems. Overall we had a really nice day! After practicing our technical systems, we did a little bit of bouldering in the sun.

Tomorrow morning we are waking up early and are spending the night tomorrow night up at camp one. We will try to call back tomorrow with another dispatch. Everything is going well. We plan on sleeping high tomorrow, at 5,600meteres to get some air!

The whole crew sends their love to their friends and family, and I would like to send my love to my family back home in Washington and Norway!
