Local Action in the Cascade Range
Mountain Madness is coming to the close of another successful ice climbing season in Colorado. With typical “phat” conditions in the ice park and some adventurous backountry climbing we found ourselves sold out of our permit days early this year.
This season Dave Ahrens, Marc Ripperger, Sondra Ripperger, and Eitan Green facilitated our Colorado programs with style and got all of the clients hooked on the sport.
As the ice starts to melt and the temps get warmer remember ice climbing is not just a winter activity. In the Northwest “hero” ice climbing can be found all summer long. So if the warming temps have you feeling remorse about putting away your ice tools and crampons, take a look at the potential for great glacial and alpine ice in the N. Cascades this summer.
