Local Action in the Cascade Range

Moun­tain Mad­ness is com­ing to the close of anoth­er suc­cess­ful ice climb­ing sea­son in Col­orado. With typ­i­cal ​“phat” con­di­tions in the ice park and some adven­tur­ous back­oun­try climb­ing we found our­selves sold out of our per­mit days ear­ly this year. 

This sea­son Dave Ahrens, Marc Rip­perg­er, Son­dra Rip­perg­er, and Eitan Green facil­i­tat­ed our Col­orado pro­grams with style and got all of the clients hooked on the sport.

As the ice starts to melt and the temps get warmer remem­ber ice climb­ing is not just a win­ter activ­i­ty. In the North­west ​“hero” ice climb­ing can be found all sum­mer long. So if the warm­ing temps have you feel­ing remorse about putting away your ice tools and cram­pons, take a look at the poten­tial for great glacial and alpine ice in the N. Cas­cades this summer.
