Yamil Solis

Yamil guides the Moun­tain Mad­ness Mex­i­co Vol­ca­noes and Oriz­a­ba Express trips. A native of Guadala­jara, he has worked as a pro­fes­sion­al guide since 2016. In addi­tion to guid­ing the peaks of Mex­i­co, Yamil has guid­ed exten­sive­ly in the Andes of South Amer­i­ca. He has spent some of his uni­ver­si­ty expe­ri­ence study­ing in Cana­da at the Col­lege of the Rock­ies. This allowed him to also ​“study” the moun­tains near cam­pus. Yamil holds cer­ti­fi­ca­tions as a Pro­fes­sion­al Rope Access Tech­ni­cian, Avalanche Train­ing Skills, and Wilder­ness First Respon­der. In addi­tion to guid­ing, he is a pro­fes­sion­al photographer.
