Tino Villanueva
Tino is a northÂwest native and calls the CasÂcade MounÂtain Range home. As an interÂnaÂtionÂalÂly cerÂtiÂfied IFMGA/UIAGM MounÂtain Guide, he regÂuÂlarÂly splits time between South AmerÂiÂca, Asia, Europe, AlasÂka and WashÂingÂton — climbÂing, skiÂing and leadÂing high altiÂtude expeÂdiÂtions worldÂwide. Tino enjoys all facets of climbÂing and is equalÂly proÂfiÂcient on rock, snow, ice or skis, havÂing accomÂplished first climbÂing ascents and ski descents in the CasÂcades, AlasÂka and the Himalaya. Aside from workÂing as a MounÂtain Guide for over a decade, Tino has worked as a heli-ski guide, snow safeÂty expert, proÂfesÂsionÂal ski patroller and is an Athlete/​Ambassador for Helly Hansen. Tino holds a degree in Human PhysÂiÂolÂoÂgy. He is a WilderÂness First ResponÂder, AIARE LevÂel 3 Avalanche cerÂtiÂfied, and an AIARE LevÂel 1 and 2 Course Leader. He has been a recipÂiÂent of the AmerÂiÂcan Alpine Club’s CutÂting Edge Award, the Mugs Stump Award and the Copp-Dash Inspire Award climbÂing grants.
