Sharon Birchfield

Sharon attended college in Seattle and began climbing with The Mountaineers in 2010. She immediately fell in love with the sport and lifestyle, and has climbed rock, snow, and ice from Canada to Mexico to South America and Europe, but still believes the best alpine climbing can be found in the beautiful North Cascades. She is passionate about introducing folks to the mountains and sharing skills and experiences that will help them exceed their goals and move beyond what they thought was possible. Sharon believes the mountains are a sacred space, with endless lessons to teach us. Sharon is an AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor, Apprentice Rock Guide, Apprentice Alpine Guide, Ice Instructor, and AIARE Course Instructor. Additionally, she is a Wilderness First Responder and a Leave No Trace Trainer. She is currently training to be an Apprentice Ski Guide and is actively pursuing full IFMGA certification.
