Joseph Hobby

Joseph began cut­ting his teeth on rock routes in the South­ern Appalachi­ans dur­ing his younger years. Lat­er, he moved to the Rock­ies, where train­ing in the alpine became an inte­gral part of his life. His ded­i­ca­tion to the moun­tain craft award­ed him a pro­fi­cien­cy in many dif­fer­ent styles of climb­ing includ­ing tra­di­tion­al, alpine, ice and mixed. His fond­ness and con­ta­gious devo­tion to ski moun­taineer­ing does not go unno­ticed among his part­ners and guests. Joseph splits time between Salt Lake City and Cha­monix most years. When he’s not play­ing in his back­yard, his pas­sions lead him to Alas­ka, Cana­da, South Amer­i­ca, and the Himalaya in pur­suit of shared climb­ing and ski objec­tives.
