John Willard
I was born in SinÂgaÂpore and moved to MassÂaÂchuÂsetts at the age of 5. My pasÂsion for climbÂing began with an introÂducÂtion to climbÂing course and I was instantÂly hooked. I moved to VerÂmont for colÂlege at NorthÂern VerÂmont UniÂverÂsiÂty, where I gradÂuÂatÂed with a B.S. in OutÂdoor EduÂcaÂtion, LeadÂerÂship, and Tourism. I’ve climbed extenÂsiveÂly in the White MounÂtains of New HampÂshire and VerÂmont mounÂtains doing both rock and ice climbÂing. The Black Dike (WI4, M3), WelÂcome to the Machine (WI4‑5), DracÂuÂla (WI4/4+), Crazy DiaÂmond (WI5), Moby Grape (5.8) are just a few of the clasÂsics I’ve led. I’ve also climbed in the Tetons, DevÂil’s TowÂer, Red Rock, and Joshua Tree. He is a AMGA SinÂgle Pitch InstrucÂtor, ApprenÂtice Rock Guide, and an ApprenÂtice Alpine Guide. He is both CPR cerÂtiÂfied and a WilderÂness First Responder.
