John Willard

I was born in Singapore and moved to Massachusetts at the age of 5. My passion for climbing began with an introduction to climbing course and I was instantly hooked. I moved to Vermont for college at Northern Vermont University, where I graduated with a B.S. in Outdoor Education, Leadership, and Tourism. I’ve climbed extensively in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont mountains doing both rock and ice climbing. The Black Dike (WI4, M3), Welcome to the Machine (WI4‑5), Dracula (WI4/4+), Crazy Diamond (WI5), Moby Grape (5.8) are just a few of the classics I’ve led. I’ve also climbed in the Tetons, Devil’s Tower, Red Rock, and Joshua Tree. He is a AMGA Single Pitch Instructor, Apprentice Rock Guide, and an Apprentice Alpine Guide. He is both CPR certified and a Wilderness First Responder.
