Brooke Maushund

Spending the better part of a decade living, working, and climbing in Yosemite National Park, Brooke cut her teeth as a climber toiling away on El Capitan and moving through the High Sierra, including multiple solo & A4 ascents. She’s dedicated her time to rescue and snow science, spending multiple seasons working on Yosemite Valley Search and Rescue, ski patrolling,as an avalanche course instructor, an avalanche center employee, and on a rescue patrol on Denali with the NPS Climbing Rangers. She is passionate about working with people to help them better understand the natural processes of the mountains, and how to move through them more safely. She is an experienced EMT, AIARE Avalanche Course Instructor, AMGA Apprentice Rock Guide, is Winter Mountain Weather Forecasting certified, and is moving through the AMGA Ski Guide Track. She is as big of a snow nerd as it gets, coming from a field engineering background working on remote weather stations, so she’s always stoked to talk snow!
