Back in the comfort zone and a special thanks!

May 9

Final days in Kathmandu are filled with eating (everything is suddenly more delicious), shopping (among the dizzying myriad of wares), lounging (anyone for a dip in the pool?), plus personal excursions ranging from a Hindi wedding to a lucrative stint in the casino. The simple days of walking and walking recede into memory. We part, bonded by our days in these mountains, and it’s one of the things I like best: the unifying nature of this extreme experience, how we are forever connected to each other by our time in the Himalayas. For me, it’s time to fatten up! It’s all happening again next season.…

As we wrap up another great season, our US office and I just wanted to take a moment to publicly thank all the people in Kathmandu who work behind the scenes to make our trips so successful! Kili, Sagar and Shankar in the head office, Pushpa at the airport, our drivers, and our hotel staff in Kathmandu (especially the bell counter). THANK YOU ALL!!!!
