Clara grew up sailÂing the seas along the east coast and purÂsuÂing a degree in biolÂoÂgy before movÂing west. She is curÂrentÂly guidÂing full time in the CasÂcades. PriÂor to her guidÂing career, she worked for 7 years as a nationÂal park ranger, proÂvidÂing remote wilderÂness emerÂgency medÂical and search and resÂcue serÂvices for hunÂdreds of visÂiÂtors at Mount Rainier, Rocky MounÂtain, and Sequoia & Kings Canyon NationÂal Parks. Clara is preÂpared for any emerÂgency as a resÂcue leader, heliÂcopter crewmemÂber, Parkmedic ALS provider, techÂniÂcal resÂcue instrucÂtor, backÂcounÂtry ski patroller, and wildÂland fireÂfightÂer. When she is not guidÂing, you can find her ice and mixed climbÂing in the CanaÂdiÂan RockÂies, alpine rock climbÂing in the BugaÂboos or WashÂingÂton Pass, skiÂing low angle trees, and cragÂging in Index. Clara is an ApprenÂtice Rock Guide, ApprenÂtice Alpine Guide, and has comÂpletÂed her AAA Pro 1.
