
Clara Maynard
Clara grew up sailing the seas along the east coast and pursuing a degree in biology before moving west. She is currently guiding full time in the Cascades. Prior to her guiding career, she worked for 7 years as a national park ranger, providing remote wilderness emergency medical and search and rescue services for hundreds of visitors at Mount Rainier, Rocky Mountain, and Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. Clara is prepared for any emergency as a rescue leader, helicopter crewmember, Parkmedic ALS provider, technical rescue instructor, backcountry ski patroller, and wildland firefighter. When she is not guiding, you can find her ice and mixed climbing in the Canadian Rockies, alpine rock climbing in the Bugaboos or Washington Pass, skiing low angle trees, and cragging in Index. Clara is an Apprentice Rock Guide, Apprentice Alpine Guide, and has completed her AAA Pro 1.
