Climbers of Color Rock

Climbers of Col­or is a Wash­ing­ton State non-prof­it (est. 2017) that aims to pro­mote diver­si­ty, equi­ty and inclu­sion in the climb­ing and moun­taineer­ing com­mu­ni­ty by devel­op­ing lead­ers of color.

To accom­plish its mis­sion of engag­ing the BIPOC com­mu­ni­ty in the climb­ing world, Climbers of Col­or pro­vides sup­port­ive men­tor­ship, tech­ni­cal train­ing and access to key resources includ­ing gear and schol­ar­ships. To learn more vis­it their web­site.

Intro to Boul­der­ing
The Intro­duc­tion to Out­door Boul­der­ing will pro­vide all the skills you will need to boul­der out­side whether it’s for the first time or you have only been a few times. Inter­me­di­ate Boul­der­ing
Inter­me­di­ate Out­door Boul­der­ing is for the climber who is famil­iar with out­door boul­der­ing and wants to take their peb­ble wrestling fur­ther. Toprope Climb­ing

This is our pre­mière class for begin­ning a rock climb­ing jour­ney on ropes or your first time sport climb­ing out­side. Learn all the basics of toprop­ing. Toprop­ing is the act of climb­ing while your rope is anchored above you at the top of the climb. We will cov­er belay device types and their prop­er oper­a­tion, communication/​commands, tying in as a climber, belay­ing, and how to take small falls on a climb and catch as a belay­er (option­al). At the end of this class, each stu­dent will have a clear under­stand­ing of all the ele­ments of toprop­ing on an already set up toprope or just be along for the expe­ri­ence. This class will con­sist of one full day held out­side at Mt. Erie.
